Trooper Kate Cummings

Statewide D.A.R.E. Coordinator

Trooper Kate Cummings is a seven year veteran of the Connecticut State Police. Sheis currently assigned to the Connecticut State Police Training Academy as the Statewide D.A.R.E. Coordinator and School Resource Officer. Trooper Cummings collaborates with the Connecticut State Police Public Information Office as a social media representative. She maintains one of the Connecticut State Police’s public Instagram accounts with over 8,000 followers. Trooper Cummings was assigned to Troop I- Bethany upon graduation from the State Police Academy and spent 3 years as a full-time School Resource Trooper with the Connecticut Technical High School System. Trooper Cummings is a proud UConn alumna, where she earned her BA in Spanish and is currently enrolled in the UConn Masters in Public Administration Fellows Program. Trooper Cummings spent a year in Juarez, Mexico doing missionarywork prior to her state service. As a full-time School Resource Officer, Trooper Cummings’ passions include: internet and social media awareness, teen driving safety, responsible decision making, and healthy relationships for her students. She has facilitated the free Internet Safety and Social Media Awareness community presentation over 400 times in 100 towns across Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland, Arizona, and Hawaii
